New Relax Online Casino Game: Marching Legions
Some of the most unique and eye-catching online slot games released in 2020 came from the minds at Relax Gaming. Its developers have been on a roll with very original productions this year, including Snake Arena, TNT Tumble, Hellcatraz, and last month’s Mega Flip.
Marching Legions is the latest addition to Aussie online casinos, another unique creation with characters and a story that make for a fun internet gaming experience.
A Visual of Marching Legions
Relax Gaming didn’t just put some symbols on a grid and call it a new slot game. Marching Legions required significant time and detail to create characters, each with unique personalities. It is unlike anything in the market.
Marching Legions takes place in Ancient Rome – in 43 A.D. to be specific. The Roman characters exemplify the Romans of yore, though in animated form. Equipped with swords and shields, not to mention some serious facial expressions, the mini Romans try to conquer the reels.
The more members of the legion, the better, as players find in some of the features. And they band together to try to cross the board in a mix between a traditional online slot game and a board game.
With a semi-dramatic soundtrack in the background, Marching Legions offers features and graphics that keep players entertained but paid. The volatility is high, but the RTP is high, too, at 98.12%.
Payouts for Marching Legions
The Marching Legions gaming grid offers five reels and three rows, not overly crowding the symbols. It offers 243 ways to win, and the maximum win is 10,000x the player’s bet.
The lowest bet is $0.10 per spin, and it increases from there to $0.20, $0.30, $0.50, $1, $2, $3, $5, $10, $25, $50, and $100 for the max bet.
When playing at $0.10 per spin, these are the payouts with five of each symbol on a payline:
- Legionnaire = $0.25
- Purple/gold flag = $0.30
- Green leaf wreath = $0.25
- Sword = $0.20
- Pink/bronze building token = $0.12
- Blue eagle token = $0.10
- Brown/gold face token = $0.10
Marching Legions Features and Gameplay
There are a number of features, so let’s dive in.
Marching re-spins involves legionnaires in marching mode. A stack of them on one reel triggers a re-spin. The stack of fighters will then move one reel to the left before each re-spin until they reach the left-most reel. Another stack of legionnaires may appear during a re-spin, and they march across the grid as well.
A player can trigger the nudge feature with two or more partial stacks of legionnaires on the grid. Those special short stacks will automatically nudge up or down to try to create a full stack. That, in turn, triggers the re-spins as mentioned above.
Note the collection meter in the upper-left corner of the gaming screen. Every time a stack of legionnaires marches outside of the reel area, that adds to the meter. When the meter fills up five times, reaching the fifth level, the player wins free spins.
(It can take quite a lot of spins to fill the meter. A total of 330 legionnaire stacks must march off the grid to completely fill the meter the requisite five times. It might be smart to play at a low bet per spin if the goal is to get to the bonus round without buying free spins.)
It is important to know that the free spins will play on the average bet used when adding to the collection meter. If a player changes the amount of the bet per spin midway through the meter collection, the game will automatically average those differing bets for the bonus round.
Players can also trigger more free spins during the bonus round as legionnaires can stack and march through the grid again.
Free spins begin with Wave 1, and a stack of legionnaires begins on the fifth reel. As the player progresses through the spins, he or she garners additional legionnaire stacks and wins gold horns. Collecting three gold horns moves the player to the next wave. However, if the last of the legionnaires march off the screen without filling the horn meter, the bonus round ends.
The highest a player can go is to win 10,000x their bet.
About those free spins, players can buy them, too. In most versions of Marching Legions, there is a “Free Spins Buy” button. The cost is 120x the bet, and it launches into free spins no matter the status of the collection meter.
