Playup Boosts Australian Presence With Betting.club Purchase
PlayUp has been shopping for businesses to bolster its presence in Australia. In their latest purchase, they have bought the online social betting website betting.club. They purchased the gambling site from three Australian club associations Club Rivers, Campsie RSL and the iconic Mounties Group.
Betting.club is an online gambling site where punters socialise while enjoying betting online. This Australian betting company is regulated by the Northern Territory government and offers betting options on various of sporting codes in Australia and internationally.
Other Acquisitions by PlayUp
In the last month, PlayUp bought a daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform, a bookmaker and a bookmarking operations provider. The DFS site is Draftstars and was owned by CrownBet. Draftstars has over 100 000 users and is the leader in the DFS industry.
The other purchase is the ClassicBet bookmaker, an online telephone betting platform. PlayUp mentioned that ClassicBet handles wagers in the region of $200 million in a year.
TopBetta is the retail bookmaking operations provider that PlayUp also added to their Australian purchases. This deal will cost AU$6 million in cash and 800 million in PlayChip Utility token cryptocurrency.

PlayChip is a cryptocurrency that was designed by the online sports betting company, and it is based on the Ethereum cryptocurrency.
According to Daniel Simic, PlayUp CEO, they plan to be a fully-integrated, blockchain-enabled global fantasy sports, online betting and gaming ecosystem. The objective is to allow punters to connect, compete and collect regardless of where they are in the world, he said.
PlayUp.com is said to have over 400 000 registers players. It offers punters the platform to create their fantasy teams and play daily fantasy challenges. Winners of the challenges can get rewarded with PlayChips that they use at the site’s store.
Simic went on to say that they also want to enhance the community and social focus, integrating the PlayChip for wagering and offerings.
