Finalists Announced For 2023 Global Poker Awards
The 4th Global Poker Awards is just around the corner, and we now know the finalists for most of the awards. Preliminary voting has been completed in 17 categories, and finalists were announced over the weekend.
The Global Poker Awards honors the best and brightest in the poker industry. Some of the finalists include Jamie Kerstetter and Marle Spragg for Best Twitter Personality. Poker Hall of Famer Phil Ivey is among the finalists for Comeback Player, while WSOP Main Event Champion Espen Uhlen Jørstad is eligible for multiple awards.
Global Poker Awards Finalists Announced
Late last week, GPI/THM announced the finalists for the 4th Global Poker Awards. Preliminary voting for the 2023 Global Poker Awards began in late January. Several panels narrowed long lists of potential candidates for each award. Voters include poker media members, poker industry personnel, and pro players.
Preliminary voting helped to determine the list of finalists for 17 categories that include:
- Best Final Table Performance
- GPI Breakout Player
- Twitter Personality
- Best Streamer
- Best Industry Person
- Best Tournament Director
- And More!
Some categories will receive more attention from the general public over others. Below are some of the more newsworthy finalists.

Five Nominees Eligible For Multiple Awards
Of the list of finalists, several are eligible for multiple awards. 2022 WSOP Main Event Champ Espen Uhlen Jørstad is eligible for awards in Breakout Player and Main Event Performance. Jamie Kerstetter is looking to add to her pair of GPA trophies with nominations for Best Broadcaster and Best Twitter Personality.
Ethan “Rampage” Yau has enjoyed a stellar year and is looking at nominations in both the Breakout Player and Best Vlogger categories. Finally, Marle Sprag has a pair of nominations. She is a finalist in the Media Content: Video category for her video Solvers and Best Twitter Personality.
Stephen Song is the ultimate finalist this year, with four nominations. He will receive trophies as the GPI Player of the Year and the GPI Mid-Major Player of the Year. He is also up for Best Tournament Performance and Player’s Choice for Toughest Opponent.
Fans Can Still Vote For Fans Choice Awards
The general public can still vote for GPA Fans Choice Awards. Fans can vote from now until early March. Below are the four categories and list of finalists:

Awards to Be Presented on PokerGO March 3rd
Final voting is now underway on all categories. The 2023 Global Poker Awards broadcast will be on March 3rd, 2023, at 8:30 pm EST on PokerGO. The awards ceremony will be held at the PokerGO Studios at the ARIA Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
