Australian Poker Tour Continues Season V With Apt Sydney
The Australian Poker Tour ended its fourth season on a positive note. APT Brisbane brought in more than 4,300 entries and awarded more than $1.1M. But as 2022 started to end the lockdowns and begin a return to normalcy, the tour set up Season V. It kicked off in Brisbane with more than 4,800 entries and more than $1.5M in prize money awarded. Now, organizers are preparing for APT Sydney set for 21-27 March.
APT Brisbane Season V Results
The Australian Poker Tour team hoped to kick off Season V of its live tournaments without Covid-19 restrictions. For the most part, it was able to do that, despite remnants of the Omicron variant lingering.
Poker players gathered at Eatons Hill in Brisbane. And when they dealt the final card, the numbers showed 4,819 entries for the entire series. And the total prize money awarded came to $1,522,780, which was vastly more than the previous $1,156,070. The January series still fell short of the $1.8M that APT estimated. However, it is all relative in pandemic times.
